FAQ

Does CodeRail see my code or my prompts?

Your server does: it relays sessions and keeps their history so you can come back to them. That server is yours, in your own Cloudflare account. Nobody else, including CodeRail's authors, is in the path.

Does it need my Anthropic or OpenAI key?

No. Each computer's agents use their own login, exactly as when you run them in a terminal. CodeRail never sees those credentials.

Do I need to open ports or set up a VPN?

No. The bridge connects out to your server, like a browser does, so computers behind home routers, offices or mobile hotspots work as they are.

What does it cost?

CodeRail is free and open source. It runs on Cloudflare Workers, D1 and Durable Objects, which a small team usually fits in Cloudflare's free tier; check Cloudflare's pricing for your use. The agents' usage is billed by their providers as usual.

Which agents does it support?

Claude Code and Codex, through the Agent Client Protocol. More can come, since any agent with an ACP adapter fits the same way.

Which computers can run the bridge?

macOS 13 and later (Apple silicon and Intel), and Linux on x64 and arm64. Windows is planned.

Can several people share one computer?

Yes. Give each person a role on it, and limit Operators to folders and agents; see Roles and permissions. Everyone's actions are in the audit log.

Can I contribute?

Ideas and bug reports are very welcome as issues. The repository doesn't take pull requests.

Who makes it?
