Terminals

Real shells on the computer, in your browser: your login shell, your environment, with colors and full-screen programs (vim, htop, and so on).

Open one

Use the terminal button in a session's toolbar, or + on a pane. A terminal opens in the session's folder. You can have several, as tabs, and split panes to see them side by side.

They keep running

A terminal stays open on the computer when you close the tab or the browser. Come back from any device and you see the screen as it was, with its recent output (the last 256 KB). A terminal whose shell has exited is kept for 10 minutes, then removed.

Who can use them

The terminal is a separate permission, because a shell can go anywhere on the computer, past any folder limit. Owners always have it; an Operator has it only when the Owner turns on Terminal for them. Viewers never do. See Roles and permissions.
